James Hook and Co, Boston, United States

Recommended by some forum web sites, I chose to try James Hook and Co. This restaurant received many good reviews of its lobster rolls.

The restaurant was about a 15-min walk from South Station (Subway station). It was a standalone building with a huge billboard saying, James Hook and Co. When we entered the restaurant, it was more like a seafood marketplace. It sold live seafood, frozen seafood and seafood deli. There were only three small low bistro tables with a couple of chairs. More seating were available outside the restaurant. We chose to dine indoor because of the scorning sun.


As for the Maine crab cake, it was another divine food. I loved it equally!! I think it had a tint of curry powder (spice) that brings out the taste. You must definitely try this.


We ordered two lobster rolls (toasted) and a piece of Maine crab cake (USD5). The hot dog bun was well toasted and the lobster meat came in chunks. It was freshly cooked and the light mayonnaise was delightful. I added black pepper to the lobster and it tasted even better. Each lobster roll was priced at USD13.00 with lots of chunky lobster meat. It was really a worthwhile deal.
